Eat Your Favorite Foods Again With Dental Implants

If you’ve lost a tooth or two, a dental implant will fill the gaps and restore your smile

Get Functionality Back With Dental Implants

If missing, broken, or removed teeth are causing you embarrassment, a dental implant can restore the function of your teeth and give you back your smile.

Losing your teeth or needing them pulled is more common than you might think. People lose teeth due to trauma from sports accidents and falls, or tooth decay and gum disease. Don’t take your healthy teeth for granted, and if you’ve recently lost one, replace it right away.

If you've lost a tooth, leaving the socket empty and exposed can cause various problems if left untreated, including:

  • Bone Loss
  • Nerve Damage
  • Infection
  • Speech Impediment
  • Shifting Adjacent Teeth
  • Problems Chewing
  • Leaves Unattractive Holes In Your Smile

What Exactly Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is an artificial root, made of surgical-grade titanium that replaces missing teeth.
Once integrated with the jawbone, It provides a strong and durable place for your gums to grow around.

Dental implants are made to look like a natural tooth in combination with a post (abutment) and crown. This combination creates a permanent solution that can withstand the impacts of chewing and grinding.

The abutment attaches to the implant and serves as a foundation for a natural-looking porcelain crown. The ceramists have years of experience hand-crafting crowns that are shaped and colored to match the rest of your teeth.

When done right, your implant is indistinguishable from the other teeth.

Dental implants can also serve as a foundation and anchor to stabilize and retain dentures for those missing multiple teeth or all their natural teeth.

Benefits Of Dental Implants

Replacing your missing teeth has many benefits including:

  • Bone loss prevention, tooth damage, and gum disease
  • Evenly distributes bite force
  • Functions and feels just like a normal tooth
  • Improves chewing and speaking ability
  • Improves the appearance of your smile

The Dental Implant Process Explained

Implants procedures take place over a series of visits. Time frames for an implant are typically longer than a bridge or crown as your gums need time to heal after each stage of the procedure.

Step One - Initial Consultation

Planning your procedure is the first and most important step to ensuring your artificial root is placed correctly. We use specialized imaging technology to develop three-dimensional images of your teeth for accurate placement.

Step Two - Placement Of The “Artificial Titanium Root”

Receiving a single-tooth implant is a routine procedure that is done with local anesthetic and typically minimal post-operative discomfort. On occasion, if circumstances permit, you may be a candidate for immediate extraction and placement. Our dentists and surgeons will discuss options at your consultation visit.

Step Three - Time To Heal

It’s time to rest and let your new “root” fuse to your bone and gums. The healing process can take anywhere from 3-6 months.

Step 4 - Placement Of The Abutment

Once the implant and tissues have healed and stable enough to restore, a digital scan or impression is taken to prepare the final abutment and crowns.

Step 5 - Placement Of The Crown

The final abutment and crown is attached to the implant secured into place. Once finished, you’ll be free to smile wide and chew almost anything you please.
